Joining Cockram in 1998, Mike began his career in a Business Development role before gaining 10+ years’ project delivery experience and then continuing into a Construction Manager role.

During this time, Mike worked in Melbourne and regional Victoria. He also spent three years as a Project Manager delivering complex pharmaceutical projects in Puerto Rico. In 2008, Mike relocated to Sydney with his family to take on the role of Cockram’s New South Wales State Manager. After seven years in the State Managers role, and large involvement in Barpa’s early development, Mike as Barpa’s Executive General Manager grew the Barpa business to a leader in it’s sector to now be the largest Indigenous Construction Company in Australia.

In 2020 Mike joined the Icon Group Senior Executive team where he extended his portfolio as Executive Director for Barpa/Icon NSW, WA, ACT, QLD & the NT.  In 2025, Mike was appointed the CEO of Icon Group and will continue his role of Executive Director for Barpa whilst overseeing the strategic plan for the broader Group.
