Providing world-class training facilities in Castlemaine

January 24, 2025

Barpa has secured the Community Health and Learning Hub project for Bendigo TAFE at Dhelkaya Health in Castlemaine on Dja Dja Wurrung country.

The facility will be a shared training and workspace for use by Bendigo TAFE for training delivery and by Dhelkaya Health for training development for staff in the graduate nurse program, external students and the Monash University GP program, enabling Castlemaine and surrounding regional residents more choices to live, learn and work locally.

Once complete the facility will include:

  • 4 bed health care simulation space
  • 2 bed aged care simulation (residential care)
  • home unit simulation (in home care)
  • general purpose classrooms, complemented by student breakout, storage, reception and a shared staff office space.

The project was officially launched with a Welcome and Smoking Ceremony by Uncle Ricky Nelson, followed by speeches from the Hon Maree Edwards MP, Sally Curtain and Dhelkaya Health CEO Sue Race. Our team then took attendees on a site walk to view the demo works being undertaken.

We look forward to delivering this significant project for Bendigo TAFE, Dhelkayah Health and the Castlemaine community.
