Barpa, in collaboration with Lendlease, has completed the Air Movements Terminal and WAR Guardhouse project at RAAF Base Tindal as part of Lendlease’s EST00346 RAAF Base Tindal Redevelopment.
The primary objective of the Air Movements Terminal is to provide a facility capable of accommodating up to 250 individuals for both inbound and outbound flights, whether domestic or international, along with an equivalent cargo handling capacity. The facility includes key areas such as an administration section, a passenger handling zone, and a designated area for cargo reception and dispatch.
Notably, the layout ensures a clear separation between departure and arrival zones and incorporates dedicated spaces for quarantine and border security checks for international flights.
The scope of the Air Movements Terminal project was comprehensive, encompassing various construction elements. This involved foundational work, installation of precast concrete structures, roofing, integration of necessary services, placement of interior partitions and joinery, and setup of logistical equipment. .
Additionally, the project included the establishment of essential facilities such as vehicle wash and loading bays, as well as the development of external infrastructure, including electrical, communication, and security systems.
A significant aspect of the project is the creation of a dedicated guard house, enhancing overall security measures
