Revitalising A Tower Hill Icon
June 13, 2023
Barpa Construction Services are thrilled to announce we have been awarded the Tower Hill Wildlife Reserve Visitor Centre Refurbishment project.
The Visitor Centre, opened in 1971, was designed by influential modernist architect Robin Boyd and is located on Eastern Maar Country, 13km west of Warrnambool within the Tower Hill Wildlife Reserve.
The project will involve undertaking internal and external conservation works including the repair of the building’s conical roof which reflects the dormant volcano it’s situated on, upgrades to the nearby toilet and amenities building, associated services infrastructure and footpaths.
This project follows community consultation and finalisation of a Tower Hill Activation and Linkages Plan which sets a vision to upgrade, protect and raise the profile of the reserve as a regional destination.
This project is being managed by Parks Victoria and the Eastern Maar Aboriginal Corporation, with funding from Regional Development Victoria.
