Barpa constructed the new Puckapunyal Primary School for the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA). The school is located on the lands of the Taungurung People within the Puckapunyal Military Area, in central Victoria.

The building is a modern education facility with 3 separate defined areas under one roof. A learning base containing 9 large classrooms, an intensive learning and community hub containing the library, science and art rooms, as well as a central Administration area. Outside, new play areas, a Basketball court and a Yarning Circle were constructed.

The Barpa team played a pivotal role in facilitating the School’s incorporation of Taungurung Cultural elements into their building and during construction we achieved a 5.5% Indigenous spend through our Indigenous supply chain and provided employment opportunities for 13 Indigenous people.

This is a project our team is extremely proud of and one that means a lot to the local community after having their previous school destroyed by fire in 2020.
