Built for both Canberra Airport and the Department of Health and Aged Care in the new Fairbairn East Gateway precinct, the three level, 8500m2 Commercial office building, is comprised of lightweight framing, precast, a structural steel roof, a curtain wall with architectural fins to the Eastern and Western elevations, and an integrated fitout.
Additionally, the base-building elements include public communal areas with hard and soft landscaping, car parking and service areas such as plant spaces, end of trip amenities and waste management.
The integrated office fitout was designed in accordance with the Department of Health’s New Ways of Working initiative, COVID safe practices and focus on adaptability and collaboration whether people are working remotely or in the office. The design is flexible and able to be adjusted based on lessons learned and user requirements.
The Project was named as a finalist in the 2023 ACT Master Builder Awards in the category of Commercial Construction over $50M.
